2013 Online Ticket Reservation System

We are excited to announce the 2013 Online Ticket Reservation System for The Cohen New Works Festival presented by the University Co-op! Below you will find instructions and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about the 2013 Online Ticket Reservation System.

The 2013 Online Ticket Reservation System will be open to the public from Tuesday, March 19th at 5:00pm until Saturday, March 23 at 11:59pm

 


  • Early Ticket Reservations


    The Early Online Reservation System is open to the following people:

    • The University of Texas at Austin Faculty & Staff
    • 2013 Festival Project Members (Projects, Filaments, Plug-ins, and Affiliates)
    • 2013 Festival Guest Artists
    • 2013 Festival Plugin Respondents
    • 2013 Executive Committee
    • 2013 Festival Producers

    Steps to Reserve Your Early Tickets

    1. Visit the 2013 Festival Schedule and start planning your schedule (you can create an account to personalize your schedule!)
    2. Wait until Monday, March 18th at 5:00pm
    3. Visit tickets.newworksfestival.org
    4. Browse Events and add tickets to your cart (limit 2 tickets per event)
    5. Enter your Event Key (You should have gotten this in an email)
    6. Checkout
    7. Download & Print your tickets (PDF) or send to an email address accessible on your phone

    Note: After Tuesday, March 19th at 5:00pm, you will no longer need your Event Key


    Using Your Tickets

    You can present your tickets at the door of events in any of the following ways:

    • Print Your Tickets from your confirmation email and have them on hand
    • Show your barcode on your phone from your email (we will scan your phone’s screen)
    • Apple iPhone users can use PassBook (required the use of the iOS mail app – not compatible with the iOS Gmail app instructions)

    Doors will open as early as 30 minutes prior to scheduled performance start time. You MUST show up AT LEAST 15 minutes prior to the scheduled performance start time to ensure your reservation is honored. Reserved tickets not claimed by 15 minutes ’til will be released to standby patrons.

  • Public Ticket Reservations

    Public Ticket Reservations

    Still haven’t reserved your 2013 Festival Tickets? While some events have already sold out, there are still tickets available for many events, here’s how:

    The Online ticket system will open to the public from Tuesday, March 19th at 5:00pm until Saturday, March 23 at 11:59pm

    1. Visit the 2013 Festival Schedule and start planning your schedule (you can create an account to personalize your schedule!)
    2. Wait until Tuesday, March 19th at 5:00pm
    3. Visit tickets.newworksfestival.org
    4. Browse Events and add tickets to your cart (limit 2 tickets per event)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  • I'm completely confused!

  • I reserved tickets but now don't want/need them.

    If you decide to cancel a reservation, let us know so we can free up those tickets for others, simply email tickets@newworksfestival.org with the following information:

    • Email address used to reserve tickets
    • Name printed on the ticket (Usually your name)
    • Which tickets to refund (Name of event and time to be refunded) – We don’t want to refund the wrong tickets. We can refund a part or whole order

  • Why aren't there any more tickets?

    Tickets are released in waves. Patrons with early access will get access to the first wave of tickets on Monday, March 18th starting at 5:00pm, more tickets will be released on Tuesday, March 19th at 5:00pm.

    Even if you cannot reserve a ticket online still plan to show up, we reserve a portion of a venue’s available seating for walk up tickets the day of the event. Simply show up to the venue the day of and claim a ticket. As a rule of thumb if you don’t have a ticket, show up 30 minuets before the performance.

  • How early should I show up?

    Doors will open as early as 30 mintes prior to scheduled performance start time. You MUST show up AT LEAST 15 minutes prior to the scheduled performance start time to ensure your reservation is honored. Reserved tickets not claimed by 15 minutes til will be released to walkup patrons.

  • How do I print my tickets?

    E-Tickets are PDF files, so you’ll need to install Adobe Reader on your computer to open (and print) your tickets. Adobe Reader can be downloaded for free.

    If you lost or never received your tickets by email, you can have them re-sent to you.

  • I reserved a ticket but I don't have a printer!

    Do you have a smartphone? E-tickets are mobile optimized and can be pulled up from your ticket confirmation email. Simply bring your phone with you to the venue and pull up your ticket barcode from your email and we will scan your phone’s screen.

  • How many tickets can I reserve?

    You can reserve up to two (2) tickets per event.

  • If I reserve a ticket in my name, can some one else use it?

    Yes, you just need to make sure they get the ticket. You can print it out and give it to them, or use the “send” feature of our ticket provider (instructions)

  • Can I reserve tickets for multiple events in one transaction?

    You sure can! Visit our ticket provider’s help article for visual instructions on how to fill your cart with tickets from multiple events.

  • How do walkup tickets work?

    20% of a venue’s capacity is reserved for walkup patrons. These tickets are given out about 30 minutes prior to the scheduled performance start time. Tickets are given on a first come, first serve basis. As a rule of thumb if you don’t have a ticket, show up 30 before the performance to get in line.

    What if I don’t get a walkup ticket?

    10 minutes prior to scheduled performance start time, all unclaimed reserved tickets will be released to standby patrons who did not get walkup tickets. While we cannot guarantee there will be standby tickets,  if you really want to see a show, stay in line in hopes of getting a standby ticket
